fire and wine

a few sundays ago we ended the weekend with a little fire and wine.  maybe my new favorite combo and a pretty amazing way to end a wonderful weekend.  windows and doors were open, welcoming the best month of the year - october.  friends came over and we caught up over some nice red and a smokey fire.  yes, it was as good as it sounds!  penny of course was in heaven, with lots of attention from our friends.  she sure is a ham.  ps she may now have her own instagram account (@pennymccrary) :) happy fall everyone!

finally blogging these cute pics of pen. i can't believe she has been in our family for almost three weeks.  life with a puppy has definitely been an adventure and has completely changed our lives. it's crazy because i don't even know what i did all day before she came into our lives...what real mom's always say! to all the real mothers of little ones out there, i know i am just a dog mom, but my days now feel like they did when i nannied infants. so fun, yet so tiring. oh and also hard to get anything done.  but when i see that little face begging me to play with her for the third hour in a row, it's really hard to ignore; especially when she is growing so fast and soon she will be too big to carry. okay, i'll stop now - i'm starting to sound like a dog version of that "i love you forever" book. haha. so below are pictures of penny in the grass one evening - back when it felt like summer outside and we were all in shorts. we had such a mild summer that i'm kind of sad to see it go.  don't get me wrong, i am loving the cool mornings and leaving the windows open! i just need to get in the fall spirit with some PSL or maybe buy some mums :)

lake weekend with the daniels and company. one of the best weekends we've had in a while. relaxation, good weather, amazing food, and sweet time with friends. oh, and really cute puppies too! until next time, lake lanier.

sunroom living

yesterday we kicked off the weekend relaxing in our new sunroom.  our living room couch finally arrived thursday, which means the sunroom finally has some seating!  i am loving how the sunroom is starting to come together.  it gets gorgeous light in the afternoon and since we are on a hill you can actually see it setting between the beautiful old magnolia trees.  sitting in there before dinner was so peaceful and relaxing, it was almost like a vacation. hope you enjoy your weekend!

life has been pretty fun lately.

we've unpacked wedding gifts that we hadn't seen in 4 years and have frequented the depot way too much for my liking. we've been hanging out with friends and enjoying atlanta's monday night brewery.

i worked at the atlanta food and wine festival for buckhaven lifestyle magazine and got to capture and sample some of the best food and drink that the south has to offer (tough, i know).  pictured above is atlanta's honeysuckle gelato's sea salt caramel - so good!  i also have been babysitting the cutest little two year old boy and adventuring to the botanical gardens.  i am slowly decorating and getting settled into our home.  pictured above is tyler's office space, our first night on our patio, ty baby cutting the yard like a champ, and our first date night at home with our new grill! we are definitely enjoying our first summer in our new house :)  hope you are enjoying your summer too.
