birthdays

well, exciting news! our friends wyatt and aimme are now proud parents of a sweet little boy!
small group girls had a shower for aimee a few weeks ago, and i have been meaning to post those pictures before he arrived, but ran out of time! sweet john embry arrived last weekend and he is precious. we made our second trip to the hospital to visit a newby - both in the same month! crazy and exciting.

here are some pictures from the shower. i believe the first one was act like your water just broke.
kelly wins.
who is really pregnant? hard to tell.
sweet little heart. too bad there is just a balloon in there.

in other birthday news, my dear friend meghan had a birthday last week as well. we were fortunate enough to go to atlanta for the big celebration! such a fun night.

for your driving entertainment

okay, so this has been on my mind for a very long time {try ever since we moved to auburn}, and i have just been putting it off, trying to work up to the post. on my way home from work today, i had finally had enough and decided that today is the day. today is the day that i reveal my biggest pet peeve of all time. if you know me well, you know the answer... it's personalized tags! so why today? what has caused me to write about this issue?

well, i saw the most random and lame tag ever: SANDBKT. unless you are the inventor or creator of sandbuckets, you should not advertise this on your car tag. i have been to a lot of places and lived in three different states, and i honestly can say that people in auburn are addicted to personalized tags.

now, a ton of people have their name or initials, and i am not going to give you that hard of a time, seeing how i too have monogrammed random things before {think towels, travel gear, etc}. but it's those random things that people feel so led to advertise that really are the best. it's like, is that the most important thing you can say to everyone you will ever drive by?

as i have been driving around town, i have tried really hard to remember the tags to include in my post. it is so hard to write them down and drive at the same time, so i only can remember a few, but they are so good!

IHATEUA {"i hate the University of Alabama....wow..}
AUCREED {"Auburn University Creed"...did you write it or something?}
AURELTY {Auburn Realty}
AUFAN#1
TIGERRZ
TW1LGHT {Twilight}...with HOGWRTS {Hogwarts} as the front tag. YES, this is true.

gosh, there are so many good ones, i wish i could remember them all! if you are in auburn and see some good ones, please let me know!

wedding in the city

last weekend we went to atlanta for a wedding. it was one of the best weekends i have had in a long time. i'm not sure if i can really convey to you how much fun it was, but i'll try.

instead of doing date night in auburn on friday, tyler surprised me by taking me to atlanta a day early. curious me asked "why the occasion?", to which he replied "it's just love your wife day". oh how i adore him. we stayed in a swanky mod hotel and dined at our favorite, el taco. can i just say, i love atlanta restaurants? auburn has one really good one. let me give you a hint- - it starts with an 'am' and ends in 'sterdams'. we tried to go there last night for date night, but it was an hour and a half wait, so we went elsewhere :( someone, please open another good restaurant in auburn!

anyways, back to the weekend.
hotel, twelve. it had a full kitchen and a beautiful view.

saturday we apartment hunted, which was fun, exhausting, exciting, and surreal. in the months coming i'm sure i will be posting pics of our choice and then decorating pics. so crazy... i'll save my thoughts, feelings for when it is time.

saturday night was gina and adam's wedding. it was so beautiful and a ton of fun. look at how sweet they are!
the magnificent biltmore.

i'm convinced that weddings with your best friends are the best thing. enjoy the party pics!
hearts overflowing with joy. we are so blessed!

oh my, yum.

i love you all.

gasparilla weekend

oh hey there. every time i miss a week {or two} on the blog i start feeling guilty for neglecting the poor girl. i feel like lately i start off my posts with an apology due to my absence. but i am going to try not to apologize any more. why such boldness? because i know you are just as busy as i am and you totally understand how life can get crazy and before i know it, it's 10 pm and i have to choose between blogging and getting ready for bed. blog world, i love you, but sleep always win.

speaking of sleep, i know that the ferguson's aren't getting much these days, because EXCITING NEWS! darby arrived on wednesday. it was my first trip to the hospital to visit a new mom and baby and it was sweet. darby is a doll and i am so excited for my dear friend. i forgot my camera, but don't worry, i will be capturing her sweetness soon!

okay, so what have we been up to? last weekend we went to tampa to visit my fam and celebrate gasparilla. not from the bay area? what is gasparilla? i am not even going to try to begin to explain it to you. click here and here to learn more about it!

tyler even got the participate in the festivities as dad's guest pirate.

make up time

this year dad was the captain of ye mistic krewe of gasparilla which is a huge deal. he is basically the ceo of the krewe and in charge of the entire parade and taking over the city of tampa. the day was definitely a long one, full of lost of fun and pirate craziness.
here is a picture of dad's personal captain pin. pretty cool!the weather was perfection and i had a blast out on the bay watching the invasion take place!

it was fun going back to tampa to celebrate with the entire family. gasparilla has been a part of my life since i was a little girl in the children's parade, and it was so much fun watching tyler experience it for the first time.
