it's saturday in athens

yesterday, we took a break from the busy city and headed over to athens for the day.

it was a much needed mental break from all of the craziness that is going on in my life. 

we spent the day outside, walking around taking in all the sights and visiting with friends.

i also got to see my fabulous sister! oh how i miss her. i can't believe this is her last year in college. 

we got to tailgate with dear friends from college (above) and walk around with gus and see lots of people whom we haven't seen in while (below).

dear today

today i just feel like writing a little letter.  inspiration comes from today's letters blog.  if you haven't checked out their blog, you should.  they are precious bloggers that write letters daily.

okay, so let's begin.

dear husband, thank you for taking me out to the optimist friday night.  it was delicious and cool and who knew i would love raw oysters?!  

dear me, way to go being brave and trying new foods.  

dear husband, oh yeah, i'm sorry for pinching you multiple times in your sleep last night to point of waking both of us up.  i was having a nightmare.

dear what to expect when expecting, you were a great movie, but you are causing me to have stressful nightmares of being pregnant. 

dear weather, i love you today. perfect hint of fall!

dear elevator people, please don't try to make small talk at 7 am in the morning.

dear camera, thank you for being awesome and working so hard this week.  four photo shoots and a wedding in one week, oh my!

dear weekend, i am so excited for you to arrive.  looking forward to shooting my first wedding.

dear hair and nails, i promise to take care of you soon. 

dear dvr, you are about to get nice and full. so glad fall television has finally resumed!

chunky guacamole

hey there blog friends.

i am here to share with you a little recipe!

i have recently fallen in love with guacamole, specifically the chunky kind.

thank you to my friend al for showing me the ropes.

so, here is what you'll need ::

1 tomato

1/2 yellow onion

2 cloves of garlic

2 avocados

handful of cilantro

1 lime

salt and pepper to taste 

what to do ::

chop up all of the ingredients

place in a medium size bowl

squeeze the lime

add some salt and pepper

mix everything together

enjoy!

it's fall, y'all

and that means football is back in full swing.

when you have 3 SEC teams in the house,

in order to keep everyone's schedule straight.

porch life

i'm missing this porch today.

i didn't spend as much time on it last weekend,

due to the extreme humidity and heat.

yuck.

i feel like i always get impatient during this time of the year.

summer is over, i know, i know.

so let the pumpkin everything begin!!!

afternoon walk

yesterday in auburn, 

after our bacon breakfast and wing fest, 

we decided to leave the house and be a little active.

we took the daniels on a quick tour of downtown and campus.

we stopped by carroll commons to take a short break from the heat

and i took the opportunity to take some pictures of their precious pup, gus.

once the camera came out, it was photo shoot time in my mind, and i got snapping. 

it's hard for me not to take a ton of pictures when i have my camera with me. i just love it!

it was also fun to take a break from being behind the camera 

and take some photos with my hubby.

wing fest

while the expresso idea didn't take this morning,

the wing idea definitely did. 

in honor of the first football weekend,

the boys decided that a wing fest was in order.

after finding a savory recipe, 

they went to work,

preparing a wing fest for us.

and let me tell you,

they were THE best wings anyone had ever tasted. 

EVER.

and we ate them all.

we made it. august for me was nuts - lots of fun photography, and of course back to school.

we are so excited for this holiday weekend!

and since it's national bacon day, 

we had to cook us up a good bacon breakfast!

the boys were adventurous and tried to make us expressos. 

despite what the pictures look like, 

it didn't turn out so good.
