obama and his squirrels

we spent our first full day being tourists and hopping around the museums and taking in the sights.  we stopped by the white house and saw some pretty crazy squirrels that were a little too friendly and close! i have heard of black squirrels, but i had never seen an albino one :)  as for museums we went to the museum of natural history, national museum of american history, the national portrait gallery, and best of all, the newseum.  the newseum was my favorite thing we visited last summer, so i knew we had to visit.  it wasn't hard convincing my pr star sister to spend some time there as i drooled over the new jacques lowe photo exhibit.  last summer the newseum had an exhibit of all the presidential photographers and this time they had an entire exhibit dedicated to jacques lowe's photos of jfk.  they were breathtaking and i felt like the newseum had read my mind last summer as i was left wanting more of jl's photos.  not only are the kennedy's such style icons, but the way jacques captured their time in the white house is a photography dream.  on the top of the newseum there is a balcony with a wonderful view of the capitol and obama even drove by while we were out there which was exciting.  we also ate lunch at founding farmers, which i highly recommend!
